Greek Deity Sheet - Zeus
A new way to interact with Pagan Gods. A page for your Book of Shadows dedicated to a specific deity. Each page comes with an attached parchment envelope filled with a torn and charred piece of parchment paper. Write a letter to your god or goddess and place it inside the envelope. You can also add herbs, crystals, or any other magical tool as an offering to your god or goddess. Add your hair or fingernail clippings to the envelope to merge your energy with the deity.
To be true to the ancient culture, I did a lot of research on each deity and I added the most appropriate symbols to their pages. The back of the page has the aged background, but it is blank so you can add even more facts and/or pictures of your deity.
Zeus: King of all Greek gods. God of lightning, thunder, storms, clouds, the sky, judgement and authority. His symbols are lightning and eagles. He rules the planet Jupiter.
The picture of Zeus comes from Ancient Greek pottery art, c. 480 to 470 BCE.
A copy of an Ancient Greek coin dedicated to Zeus has been added to the tip of the envelope like a wax and seal. This coin comes from Sicily, c. 344 - 336 BCE.
A prayer for each deity has been translated into Greek. In English the prayer reads:
Lift up our blessed Zeus,
At the height of paradise.
When all things are visible,
When all things are clear.
This double sided Parchment Paper page has been mounted onto a three
hole punched backing. It is ready to be added to your Adjustable Book of
Shadows. I invented them because I wanted scrapbook pages free from plastic
sheet protectors. The pages are all 8 ½ by 11 inches. The 3 holes have been
punched into an extra ½ inch strip on the side of the page. They look like
pages of a regular book in a tightly bound scrapbook because you can’t see the
bindings at all. They make a wonderful crisp sound as you turn the pages. The
pages are printed onto brand new Ivory Parchment Paper but look aged. All mounted page come with frayed edges and
are coffee stained. Your Book of Shadows will look like an old family heirloom.
